Planning on taking hair dryer, laptop, battery charger to European or Asian countries? You will need to know the following information before taking them to your destination. European and Asian countries outlets work on 220V current and the US has 110 Volts. So in order to use those items overseas you will have to make sure your item supports both voltages, luckily most of the battery chargers, and laptops are dual voltage, so all you will need is plug adapters that fits your country. Different countries use different type of plug adapter that fits into the outlet. Here is a list of plug adapters for each country. The good thing about plug adapters is that it doesn't cost more than $3.As for most hair dryers you will require a travel voltage converter, although there are some that work on both voltages, just make check them to make sure.
The voltage is usually listed on the product itself. For example, It will say something like (Input: 100V-240V 1400W) this means the item is dual voltage, it will work any where in the world, with a plug adapter. If the item states (Input: 110V - 150W), this means that the unit is only designed to work on US voltage, and you will need a 200 Watt travel voltage converter.
These are just basics of voltage converters and plug adapters, if you need more information in regards to calculating voltage, wattage, or specifics on what type converter do I need, here is a helpful guide.
